Vs Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins?! FIGHT! Torn.

Going straight Punk Goes Pop style for this week’s head to head we’ve chosen to send down to the fight arena a pair of covers of “Torn” made perhaps more famous by Australian songstress Natalie Imbruglia but actually being a cover of a song by American Rockers Ednaswap, that featured on their 1997 album “Wacko Magneto“. It might not be considered very Metal but Imbruglia was in a near decade long relationship with Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns so there is a tenuous link…

So for our cuts we’ve skipped over the Hands Like Houses version from the second volume of the Fearless Records compilation Punk Goes 90’s and instead chosen the version by Neck Deep for our Red Corner. Why? Because it was presented as part of the Songs that saved my life series, a charity compilation for Mental Health awareness and Suicide prevention that is a very worthy cause. In the Blue Corner we have Aristic with with Johan Segerström of Human Machinery adding vocals from their recently released EP “Make Over“. Who Wins? You decide!
