Throwback: “Until I Feel Nothing” from Carnifex!

American Deathcore pioneers Carnifex have been ploughing a furrow into Planet Metal like crimson nails scratching faces and drawing blood since 2005 meaning that anniversary milestones are beginning to appear in their prized discography. It seems strange to be saying it but As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis sat in the producers chair for 2011’s “Until I Feel Nothing” that remains as furious, direct and punishing to this day as it did a decade ago. Credit where credit is due, Jason Suecof (Trivium, Devildriver, Whitechapel) helped take the band to the next level thanks to an incredible mix from Audio Hammer Studios in Orlando, Florida but the band also stepped up with some diverse shading and transitions that bring serious impact in the guitar work as well as a lot of work going into the arrangements. “Dead But Dreaming” is a standout but you can not go wrong with the title track so here’s to a decade of aggressive destruction from San Diego’s finest.
