The Black Map #191: Prove Your Worth from Bournemouth!

The first entry on our Black Map of the UK Underground Metal scene for 2022 sees us head from Swindon and Deathcore brutes Tyrants to Bournemouth to talk about horror themed Metalcore quintet Prove Your Worth, quite literally flipping the genre script like a plot twist in a phycological thriller. As with other Theatricore acts, the South Coast dwellers love nothing more than a twisted tale with a catchy chorus and ear worm riffs and have since 2019 delivered on all those fronts with four singles surpassing the 37k Spotify streams in that time. They made their live debut a year ago in January 2020, sharing a stage with MSRY, 7eventh Sea, Avarus, I Cried Wolf and Sulvain at Suburbia in Southampton and haven’t looked back since, finishing off the year with what can only be described as a dream come true in getting Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills fame to add the sparkle to single “The Sharpest Night“. Released not that long after the genre Kings themselves released “The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood” here’s hoping it opens the door for the bands to share stages themselves next time INK are upon our shores…
