Rabidfest 2022: Breaking Down The Bands #15: Divine Chaos!

“The change over Divine Chaos [9/10] is by far the longest as they have a far larger drum rig than any other band have put to good use today but when they finally do start their Thrash infused Death Metal blend is very well received. Their twin axe attack syncopation is perfect and when they interchange solos it’s as razor sharp as they come and as a band they’re as tight as it comes, even the backing vocals, which with other bands may leave a bit to be desired are absolutely spot on” ~ MetalNoise.Net, Rabidfest 2021

At the time of writing there are 30 (count ’em) days before we reach this years incarnation of Rabidfest(!) so now it’s time to take on the last few of our introductions before we head to The Bullingdon in Oxford for 2 days of wall to wall Metal from 20 bands on the Devolution Magazine sponsored stage. This year’s event will see the return of a band who decimated the weak 12 months ago having trodden the boards across the entirety of Europe sharing stages with everyone from Venom Inc to Decapitated in the process. The band in question are Divine Chaos, an outfit who have been combining Melodic Death Metal with Thrash since 2006 and who will once again be armed for the apocalypse with  material from their 2020 skull crusher “The Way To Oblivion“. That was the first studio outing of bassist Craig Daws (Dishonour the Crown, ex-Sacred Mother Tongue, ex-Ventflow) and vocalist Jut Tabor (FuryBorn) who all joined the band in 2019 while also having a couple of high calibre guest appearances with James Stewart (Vader, Decapitated) gracing the drum stool and Josh Middleton (Sylosis, Architects) adding a solo. So expect thrills and spills when they take to the stage because they are one hell of a band and drummer Mariusz Marecki knows how to bring the thunder of a wrathful God. Make no mistake, Divine Chaos are an absolute War Machine.
