Back in the early eighties rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot rose to prominence in Seattle Washington, regularly crossing into the World of the six string guitar. In 1988 “Iron Man“, which of course samples the Black Sabbath song of the same name became a hit single from his debut album. But arguably his most famous work is the 1992 single “Baby Got Back“, a number-one hit that went double platinum, won a Grammy in 1993 and was pushed to the post watershed slot on MTV due to complaints about the video. It later got sampled by Nicki Minaj for “Anaconda” in 2014 and the rest they say is history…
