So who the f*** are Perp Walk and why should you get your ass down to Sumer Bash V to see them? Well… Named after the walk of shame when a person in police custody is led from a police station or court house that you see in the movies with camera flashes and media scrums, Perp Walk are a Hardcore Punk band hailing from Bristol. Built on the foundations of demos written by guitarist Dan Mélizan circa 2016 it was 2021 before the band came to life, the completed material finding them sitting at the cross roads between Punk and Hardcore while citing influences in Power Violence. Lyrically their debut EP is classically conditioned by working in the NHS at University Hospital of Wales, during the pandemic with both cuts as short and sharp as a poison dwarf with a hatchet. Here’s “Dogwhistle” to whet your appetite with the full EP available for your listening pleasure here.
