Rabidfest 2023: Breaking Down The Bands #13: Sworn Amongst!

After the announcement of not one, not two but six more bands to the line up for the fifth anniversary of Rabidfest, the hottest ticket in town just became scorching. As if you didn’t already know, the event will take place at The Bullingdon in Oxford over the weekend of the 4th and 5th November 2023. That’s two full days of wall to wall riffs, thunderous percussion and rumbling bass from some top notch bands from the Underground Metal scene… as well as the opportunity to enjoy your favourite beverage or five. Here’s whose been announced to play this year (so far)…

Fast approaching their 21st anniversary, Sworn Amongst started out as a Thrash outfit before steadily evolving into a Groove Metal act over the course of four full length albums and five extended plays. In their time they’ve played Download Festival, Bloodstock and Hammerfest in the UK as well as being main support for Annihilator for a UK run. Add to that a playing shows across Europe with the likes of Irish Thrash overlords Gama Bomb and you can safely say they can hold their own in Oxford. The accolades continue with the band being hailed by both Terrorizer and Metal Hammer Magazine regularly over a decade with cuts appearing on cover mounted compilations no less than eleven times, including dropping an Avenged Sevenfold cover. It’s not all been a bed of roses however and the band did call it a night in 2020 with final single “Crucify“… before resurfacing in March this year with “Restitution“!
