Vs Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins?! FIGHT! Domination.

The rights and wrongs on the Pantera tribute slash reunion are going to be something debated long into the night, around many a camp fire with may a bottle of Wild Turkey being sunk in the process. Could the people behind it have found better players to take part? Probably not. Will it taint the legacy of Texas Groove Metal Kings? No. Is everyone going to have a good time at the shows? Undoubtedly. The hype, nostalgia and energy in them is going the be something special, albeit not as special as seeing the original line up, especially in the “Vulgar Display Of Power” era. That being said, the ultimate questions are: should they be doing it in the first place – and – does this smell like a cash grab from a bunch of aging musicians? Well… There may be part of the latter in this but ultimately is there any harm in that? We’ve all got dependents and bills to pay…

And so to our head to head and this week the classic that is “Domination“. In the Blood Red corner we have Swiss Melodic Death Metal act Irony Of Fate covering the “Cowboys From Hell” classic that has 71m Spotify streams alone, while at the same time giving new drummer Kevin Lütolf a run out. In the ice cold Blue Corner we have members of Sylosis and Wovenwar joining forces in Cologne Germany some seven years ago. Sylosis have of course just dropped a new single and announced a huge European tour trek with Malevolence for November and December. Who wins? You decide!
