The Black Map #266: Our Fate from Reading! (Reading Rising IV Edition)

A curious mix of sounds with be emanating from The Facebar in Reading on Saturday 18th November with a collection of no less than 12 bands split across 2 stages performing everything from Metalcore to Alternative Rock to help your breathe more easily. After all, what could be better than shelter from the cold November rain, a few beers and some decent music to brighten the spirits? Maybe someone should write a song about it. Oh wait. We should say there are zero clashes during the fourth incarnation of Reading Rising. You can witness all the bands throughout the afternoon, into the evening and even the night. As if that wasn’t enough, there is even an after party DJ set from Our Fates’ Finn Panhaleux running until 2am! Here’s the line up so far…

Our Hollow Our Home (headliner)
Confessions Of A Traitor (headliner)
Waterlines
NervEndings
InAir
Crushed By Waves
Veridian
Our Fate

Add to that little lot 4 more bands to be announced!

As it’s double duties for Our Fate guitarist Finn Panhaleux, he’s going to need to make sure he gets in a decent warm up. After all, there is only so much Monster and Pro Plus one can consume before eyeballs start to pop out and nightmarish visions start happening. The band themselves have been on the scene since the summer of 2019, releasing a trinity of singles before their debut album “Reflections Of My Past” arrived in June this year. Known for combining Pop-Punk with Alternative Rock and Melodic Hardcore, the five piece have taken a quality over quantity route and have already shared stages with Veridian, NervEndings and Crushed By Waves who will both be appearing at Reading Rising IV, so [insert Bromance cliché here]. No doubt there will be a huge sing-a-long for their big single “Alone“, which is dangerously close to 20k of Spotify and YouTube streams combined, while having listeners in Charlotte North Carolina might tempt them into a DIY tour on the other side of the pond. Yes – everyone would do very different things with a lottery jackpot win, a big house and a fancy car isn’t everyone’s idea of happiness. No – we’ve got no idea what that DJ set will have in store. But we can hazard a guess that it may contain some Blink 182, a bit of Sum41 and perhaps even another band with a number in their name. Probably not any Cannibal Corpse.

We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Reading Rising IV. If you want a ticket for this year’s incarnation you can find them here
