Summer Bash 2026: An Introduction to In Maluum!

Burn baby burn, disco inferno. While the United Kingdom is either enjoying or enduring a heatwave, depending on your point of view, Mercury’s Well are preparing for this years incarnation of Summer Bash. Their annual Hawaiian themed Beach Party has reached a milestone eighth year this year and so no less than ten bands will grace the stage at The Facebar in Reading on 18th July in celebration. A home town throwdown for the Progressive Death Metal trio, as ever, it will find them bringing the great and good from the underground scene once more. Hawaiian shirts, inflatable palm trees, cocktails and flower necklaces will all be in place, resistance is futile!

You read the headline so in time honoured fashion, the question is: who the f*** are In Maluum and why are they worth getting down to The Facebar early? The short answer is In Maluum are so fresh that if they were Orange Juice on a Hotel menu they’d be described as a luxury breakfast item. Hailing from Windsor in Berkshire, a place tourists flock to every year to see the Castle, the sleep deprived quartet love nothing more than playing live music, loud and proud. Taking influences from the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Nails, Arch Enemy and Gojira, they are a Death Metal band with Groove who aren’t for purists. That’s because as we all know, variety is the spice of life and so they do what they do with a little bit of Black Metal flair, some Thrash panache and an undying love for all things extreme. They may have only started playing shows in 2026 and have no studio material to offer up but their reputation being able to go toe to toe with anyone and give them a run for their money precedes them. We better hope the air conditioning is working because they’re going to bring some serious heat!
