In case you missed the memo, let us confirm that the sixth incarnation of Summer Bash from Progressive Death Metal trio Mercury’s Well is taking place on Saturday 13th July at The Facebar in Reading. As with last year’s event that means 10 bands including your gracious hosts will be taking to the stage and ensuring that once again seismic activity is registered from the rumbling bass lines. For those not in the know, it’s a Hawaiian beach party of the highest order with shirts, flower necklaces and inflatables all part and parcel of the entertainment. Here’s line up in full:

Wallowing (headliner)
A Night In The Abyss
Mercury’s Well
Them Bloody Kids
Maziac
Masquerader
El Chapo
Slug13
Kardinal X
Chaos Theory

So once again with feeling we ask. Who the f*** are Kardinal X and why are they worth the Summer Bash ticket price? A London based Progressive leaning Traditional Heavy Metal four piece who cite Dio era Black Sabbath and Megadeth as inspirations, they have been waterfall releasing singles via Crowblind Entertainment since the release of their 2021 debut album “The Revolution“. That process has earned them serious statistics with “The Cross” and “Dark Water” both surpassing 20k of Spotify and YouTube streams combined and no doubt guaranteeing their places in the bands set. In the live arena, Kardinal X have a reputation for powerful performances laced with a abundance of scorching solos. Those have earned them the opportunity to share the stage with the likes of War Grave, Voltstorm and Electron at iconic venues like the birthplace of Iron Maiden, The Cart and Horses Pub in Stratford. As it happens, they replaced DeadBlow who dropped off the original line up for Summer Bash and are a welcome addition for an event which is the hottest ticket in town!

We are a proud Media Partner of Summer Bash for the second year in a row! Fancy a ticket? Get them here.
