Vs Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins? FIGHT?! Kennedys

1980 saw the release of the not just ground breaking but Earth shattering “Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables” debut album from American Hardcore Punks Dead Kennedys. As politically charged and socially aware as they come the record found vocalist Jello Biafra on fire and “Holiday in Cambodia“, “California Über Alles” and “Kill the Poor” are just the tip of the iceberg from the critically acclaimed affair. That third single is the one of choice for our head to head, a scathing satire of the elite who if given the chance, would wipe out the impoverished with a bomb…

You know what time it is. In the Blood Red Corner we have Tulsa, Oklahoma’s The Agony Scene who recorded their version in the sessions for third album “Get Damned” alongside a Bad Religion cover, their one and only album with Century Media. In the Ice Blue Corner we have Tampa Florida Metalcore outfit Trivium. They took on the challenge for their eighth studio album “The Sin and the Sentence“, the first with their fifth drummer Alex Bent (Battlecross, Brain Drill). Ironically enough the two versions were released a decade apart in 2007 and 2017 respectively. Who Wins? You decide!
