Vs. Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins? Fight! Slayer Edition!

Thrash Metal legends Slayer are a household name. They have so many classic songs from throughout their career that picking just one to cover must be a serious undertaking. “Disciple” is one of those songs that sticks in your mind and brings that instant hit. So perhaps a more obvious choice. In the blue corner we have Chicago Illinois quintet Spit, playing tribute to their heroes with the help of producer Petros Massouros. They’re even giving this cut away for gratis over at bandcamp.

In the Red corner? Featuring former Bring Me The Horizon Guitarist Curtis Ward are London’s Counting Days. Their cut of the Slayer classic appeared on Metal Hammer Magazine’s “Decades of Destruction” 30 year anniversary celebrations. Both bands manage to put their own spin on the song so… Who wins? You decide. Slayer going to be upon our shores later this year for one last time in November with Lamb of God and Anthrax.
