Throwback: “Refuse/Resist” from Sepultura!

An album from which it is near impossible to choose a favourite cut from, the 30th Anniversary of “Chaos A.D.” from Brazilian Metal Gods Sepultura is one that we can’t let go of without celebrating. People will talk about “Roots” but for us, this Groove Metal masterclass is the album to beat, the opening unholy trinity of cuts “Refuse/Resist“, “Territory” and “Slave New World” the absolute Chef’s Kiss and the toughest to choose between for this feature. After much deliberation and a bottle of Barr Cherryade (no sponsorship, it was actually consumed), we’ve got for the anti-police piece of anarchy that is “Refuse/Resist“. It’s not your peaceful protest music but the soundtrack to a riot with the band unafraid to take a risk with their lyrics.
